Our Wild West Weekend, Listening to Your Gut, and a Desert Modern Dream Home
Published 4 months ago • 7 min read
Hi friends,
It’s been a full and exciting few weeks around here!
We spent a long weekend in the Wild West at Brush Creek Ranch in Saratoga, Wyoming — and honestly, calling it a “Dude Ranch” doesn’t even begin to do it justice. It was the perfect blend of luxury and rugged adventure. We rode horses, went fly fishing, and met some wonderful families along the way. It’s one of those places that stays with you as it is equal parts adventure, serenity and five-star hospitality. We already can't wait to go back.
Back home, I listed a beautiful home in The Ridges — 11451 Opal Springs Way. This modern, sophisticated property sits in the private enclave of Silver Ridge and perfectly embodies indoor-outdoor living. The home opens to a serene courtyard on one side and a spacious backyard with a pool on the other. We go all out to market every listing — professional photos, drone footage, video, website, online and print marketing, plus extensive agent networking — all to ensure our sellers get maximum exposure and the best possible price.
And last but not least… we officially kicked off our kitchen and main level renovation! The plan is to bring a little more warmth and charm to our space (it was feeling a bit too sterile & modern before). I’m so excited to finally see it coming to life and will be sharing progress updates over on Instagram as we go.
Warmly,
Kaylee

WHAT DOES "MARKET VALUE" REALLY MEAN?
On the real estate front, things in Las Vegas — and really across much of the country — are moving slow but steady. Homes are staying on the market a bit longer, buyers are taking their time, and price reductions and below-asking offers are becoming more common. It’s an adjustment for everyone. However, with mortgage rates seemingly on the decline, things could pick up as the Fall market gets into full swing.
With my listing on Opal Springs, I’m grateful to have a realistic and experienced seller who understands where the market is heading. We priced competitively from the start, not overreaching, just aligned with today’s values. That said, I’ve heard a few neighbors (who also have homes for sale) weren’t exactly thrilled when we came on the market at our price…
The truth is, if we had listed under market value, we’d likely have received multiple offers and be under contract already. But we’ve had consistent showings and solid interest over the past couple of weeks that we've been on the market — exactly what we expect at this price point.
Right now, listing agents everywhere are having some tough conversations about pricing and expectations. And honestly, when neighbors start getting frustrated about someone else’s listing price, that’s just another sign of how much the market is shifting.
Here’s the bottom line: Market value isn’t what your neighbor sold for six months ago or what an appraiser once said your house was worth... It’s what real, active buyers are willing to pay today for your home.
Whether you're thinking about buying, selling, or just keeping a pulse on the market, I'm always happy to chat.

Tucked inside Silver Ridge — a coveted enclave within the guard-gated Ridges — this home is the epitome of desert luxury. These residences were crafted to blend modern design with privacy, exclusivity, and sophistication.
This particular property is a standout: an interior lot with no neighbors directly behind, creating a rare sense of seclusion. Inside, light pours through every space, complemented by interiors curated by renowned design firm THE Interior Design.
The layout is designed for seamless indoor-outdoor living; mornings in the courtyard with its serene water feature, afternoons by the pool, and evenings hosting at the covered outdoor kitchen and patio. A true sanctuary in the desert.
Your microbiome is a vast, living ecosystem made up of trillions of bacteria, fungi, and other microorganisms that live mostly in your gut (though they exist on your skin, in your mouth, and throughout your body, too). Think of it as an internal garden; some microbes protect and nourish you, while others can create inflammation or imbalance when they overgrow.
WHY IT MATTERS:
A balanced microbiome supports digestion, nutrient absorption, hormone regulation, immune strength, skin health, mood and even sleep. An imbalanced one, on the other hand, can lead to bloating, fatigue, sugar cravings, acne, or that feeling of just being “off.”
SUPPORTING YOUR MICROBIAL FRIENDS:
Feed them well. Choose whole, fiber-rich foods: veggies, fruits, beans, and whole grains — which act as prebiotics (the food your good bacteria thrive on).
Add in diversity. A colorful plate = a diverse microbiome. Different plants feed different strains of bacteria.
Include fermented foods. Think sauerkraut, kimchi, kefir, or plain yogurt. These are probiotics that help repopulate your gut with beneficial microbes.
Reduce disruptors. Minimize processed foods, refined sugars, alcohol, and unnecessary antibiotics — they can wipe out beneficial bacteria.
Manage stress and get quality sleep. Your gut and brain are in constant communication (the gut-brain axis), and stress alone can shift your microbial balance.
Your microbiome is a living reflection of how you eat, think, and live. Treat it with care, and it will return the favor in energy, mood, and resilience.
how i like to give my microbiome some love
One thing I personally do every morning to give my gut a friendly kick-start: I take a spoonful (1-2 Tbsp) of Coconut Cult - a fermented coconut yogurt that is non-dairy and has 16 different strains of probiotic bacteria - first thing in the morning (just after I remineralize with Quintons).
The best advice is always to "listen to your gut!" And here I really mean it!
At the end of September, my family traveled up to Saratoga, Wyoming, about an hour and a half north of the Colorado border, to an incredible place called Brush Creek Ranch.
We were there for an event hosted by our wonderful financial advisors, JFG Family Office, called the Human Capital Summit. It’s a unique gathering where they bring together their clients and families for a few days of connection, learning, and meaningful conversations. We didn’t know exactly what to expect as it was our first year attending, but we left with full hearts, fresh perspective, and some great new friends.
As for the ranch itself… it’s truly something special. Picture wide-open rolling hills, rugged rock outcroppings, hundreds of horses grazing across golden fields, and the leaves just starting to turn for fall. The weather was perfect — well, except for the one afternoon we went horseback riding and got caught in a rainstorm at the top of the mountain. We powered through and felt like true cowboys (for the most part 😅).
Every meal was outstanding, the service impeccable, and there was something for everyone to enjoy; from fly fishing, hunting, and ATV adventures to the spa, yoga, and scenic hikes. It’s one of those places that makes you slow down, breathe a little deeper, and appreciate how beautiful life can feel when you’re surrounded by nature.
If you’re ever craving a taste of the Wild West, but with all the luxury and warmth you could dream of, put Brush Creek Ranch at the top of your travel list.
DECLUTTERING YOUR MIND
"Your thoughts and actions belong to you just like your possessions. Every so often, it helps to declutter—donate old clothes or clear out a crowded shelf. Maybe it's time to let go of some unhelpful thoughts or outdated actions too?"

FEATHERBLADE| A CRAFT BUTCHERY IN SUMMERLIN
If anyone ever asks where we like to get our meat from, the answer is always Featherblade. They’re a traditional, English style butcher shop tucked away on Charleston & Durango, and they’re truly the best at what they do — sourcing only the highest-quality, ethically raised meats.
I’m a big believer that eating meat can absolutely be part of a balanced, healthy diet, but where your meat comes from matters more than anything. What did that animal eat throughout its life? How was it raised and nourished? Was it part of a regenerative and humane ranching practice? These are the kinds of questions the team at Featherblade not only welcomes, but can answer in detail.
Their mission really says it all:
If you live in Vegas and you haven’t been yet, I highly recommend giving Featherblade a try. And the next time you sit down to a meal, take a second to think about where your meat came from, how it was raised and what's it consumed throughout it's life. You’ll taste the difference — and honestly, you’ll feel it too.
Each year Benjamin Moore decides to set some trend predictions, and this year I actually really like the color. Its moody & dark but feels classy & timeless. What do you think of their selection for 2026?
Silhouette AF-655
A distinctive color that weaves luxurious burnt umber with delicate notes of charcoal, Silhouette AF-655 lends style and grace to the Color Trends 2026 palette of enchanting pales and handsome midtones.

I hope 2026 is starting off on a positive note, the refreshed energy a new year brings is always exciting! It’s been a busy start to the year on the real estate front. After feeling fairly sluggish through the final months of 2025, the Las Vegas market is showing signs of renewed momentum heading into the new year. I just closed on my beautiful listing in The Ridges after a quick 7-day escrow — one that required a lot of coordination, diligence, and fast decision-making, but ultimately...
Hi friends, With no travel this past month, I’ve finally settled into a semi-normal routine with work, exercise, and healthy habits — semi being the key word, because our kitchen and main living areas are completely under construction. We’ve been living with dust, plastic-wrapped furniture, and the nonstop soundtrack of drills and hammers. Alex and I are basically quarantined to our offices, but I keep reminding myself: it’s going to be worth it! A few things I’ve learned while living through...
